Route: Addis Ababa – Awash National Park – Aledeghi Wildlife Reserve – Lake Langano – Abijatta-Shalla Lakes National Park – Addis Ababa

Day 01: Addis Ababa – Awash National Park
Upon arrival at the airport in Addis Ababa, meet your guide and begin the drive to Awash National Park, located approximately 230 km from Addis Ababa in the Ethiopian Great Rift Valley. The scenic drive takes you through volcanic mountains and valleys, where you will witness dramatic lava fields stretching along both sides of the road, resembling freshly turned earth. En route, stop at the beautiful Lake Beseka, a lake rich in birdlife. Here, you may spot:
- Pink-winged pelicans
- African fish eagles
- Saddle-billed storks
- Various other bird species
This area is also home to the nomadic Kereyu Tribe, often seen bringing large herds of camels to the lake for water. In the afternoon, continue to Awash National Park for a game drive and a visit to the beautiful Awash Falls. Wildlife sightings may include:
- Beisa oryx
- Baboons
- Lesser kudu
- Warthogs
- Gazelles
- Colobus monkeys
With some luck, there may also be opportunities to spot big cats. Overnight: Doho Lodge
Day 02: Awash National Park – Aledeghi Wildlife Reserve
In the morning, enjoy an early game drive around Aledeghi Wildlife Reserve. Wildlife commonly seen in the reserve includes:
- Olive baboons
- Beisa oryx
- Soemmering’s gazelles
- Gerenuk
- Grevy’s zebra
- Waterbucks
Bird enthusiasts may also encounter:
- Kori bustards
- Arabian bustards
- Various indigenous bird species
After the morning safari, drive to the famous Doho Hot Springs, where Doho Lodge is located. The lodge overlooks Doho Lake, formed by the many natural hot springs surrounding the area. Spend the remainder of the day relaxing around the hot springs and enjoying the peaceful natural setting.

Day 03: Doho Lodge – Lake Langano
After breakfast, drive to Lake Langano, with scenic stops along the way. Upon arrival, check in at Hara Langano Lodge, one of the area’s well-known lakeside resorts. Later in the afternoon, enjoy:
- Swimming
- Birdwatching
- Sunset views over the lake
Relax and take in the beautiful atmosphere of Lake Langano. Overnight: Hara Langano Lodge
Day 04: Lake Langano – Addis Ababa
In the morning, drive approximately 20 minutes to Abijatta-Shalla Lakes National Park. Enjoy a walking tour through the park, where wildlife sightings may include:
- Warthogs
- Grant’s gazelles
- Black-backed jackals
- Ostriches
- Baboons
After the visit, drive back to Addis Ababa, with a lunch stop in Ziway. Arrival in Addis Ababa is expected late in the afternoon, followed by transfer to the airport for your international departure flight.
